Tokyo kimonos, colours and comedy masks

They were surprised to see me, but nowhere near as surprised as I was to see them.

It really was. A sight I definitely didn’t expect to see.. And yeah, not your average masks to say the least!

Perhaps they are dressed for a Halloween party or a parade since men rarely walk around with swords these days.

It’s almost certain they were a Chindon’ya group (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chindon'ya) having a break in the park. Or perhaps getting ready to start work. But they are rare sights these days, and even rarer in a situation like this.

After a few raised eyebrows … ‘Just let me borrow that for a moment’.
I hope you didn’t need protection.
Was there an armour museum closing down sale I wonder?
The lady on the right seems totally chairless but socially distancing regardless.

Haha, one museum’s loss is another person in a fancy outfit’s gain!

I know eh? The way she’s sat there with that peculiar mask on is wonderful.
