Beyond the colours, and the fact they were all taken on recent-ish Tokyo photowalks, there isn’t really anything specific that links these images. Instead, they are simply simple moments and scenes of daily Tokyo life. A city that’s going through massive changes, and yet in many ways it somehow manages to stay more or less the same.

Awesome colors but most of all I’m lovin the color of the guy’s hair in #4!

Thank you, and yeah, I liked that look too. Quite unexpected.

There is a whole wonderful library of colours and textures captured here. Each with multiple gradients caused by lighting, weathering, gravity, usage, time. The black umbrella photograph shows them all.

Thank you. Nice to put collections like this together.. And that umbrella building remains a firm favourite. My hope of getting a shot of someone looking out of one of those windows, however, remains unfulfilled. Maybe one day.

Your timing with colours is just amazing. The green pants guy in the first one – did you see him coming down the side street and waited for him?
And the Hiranoya tabako shop with the blue awning, we’ve seen that one before, it must be so nice to document a shop that just keeps going, unlike so many others. I hadn’t noticed the bit above the name before though – established 1918?!? Yeah, I don’t think it’s going anywhere… at least I hope not!

Thanks a lot. I was there hoping someone suitable would appear, and then all of a sudden there he was. Always such a treat when something like that happens.
Yeah, it really is. Very nice to have those constants. Familiar sights that are both reassuring and simply really nice to photograph. Over and over again.

I love the matching greens in the first pic! 🙂

Thanks a lot. Very happy with how that one turned out. Couldn’t believe it when he appeared from round the corner.
