Tokyo shadow and light

Winter in Tokyo can obviously be quite cold, and as this year proved, a considerable amount of snow is also possible. But, such unusually inclement weather aside, the days are generally nice and bright โ€” the sun and blue skies making the cold much more bearable. In fact not just bearable, but an absolute boon when it comes to photography.

Ah, this is like a single frame from a long story where we never know what is going on, but it involves very eclectic mixes of clothing styles in the general populace.
I wish you posted more pics like you used to in the old days. *nudge nudge* When every pic is good, how can there ever be too many? ๐Ÿ˜€

      Haha, thanks!

Funnily enough I actually got 2 รขโ‚ฌโ€œ perhaps 3 at a push รขโ‚ฌโ€œ shots from the very same spot that I was quite pleased with, but each hinted at a very different story, or I may have posted them together. Perhaps next time!

I’ve always loved photographs and paintings (especially from the Baroque period) that use chiaroscuro. It always sees to add another dimension, not just visually but emotionally as well.

Likewise. I often find it adds an almost otherworldly element to images. An extra bit of mystery. Always a welcome ingredient.
