That’s very true. Just like putting the stylus down on a record, the process somehow makes the music more important, or at the very least something to appreciate more.
Very much the latter I think. For all its conservatism and conformity, Japan has lots of eccentrics, and people who very obviously do their own, unique thing.
It’s a long time since I saw something like that hanging off someone’s hip. The ear buds look quite new though. Definitely a dude that walks to the sound of his own beat.
A wonderfully framed photograph. Hints of Abbey Road too 🙂
Thanks. Happy to hear you picked up on that. When I first saw him my thought was getting his photo in front of an old building, but then I spotted the crossing…
So am I. Often think that when I see someone who really seems to be enjoying the tunes they are listening too, but with this fella that sense of curiosity was much more intense.

Wow! I haven’t seen one of those in a while. Definitely rockin!

I know eh? It was a nice surprise to say the least. Would love to know what he was listening to.

I like his style! 🙂
Lee says
Likewise. A man with his own look.

Awesome pic, dude ^^
Lee says
Thank you! The old fella did it all for me. Just a case of standing in the right place and waiting for him to stroll past.

A walkman. Awesome! The cool hat and shades are a great match too. Perfect! 🙂
Lee says
Yes. The Walkman was a lovely surprise, but it definitely wouldn’t have been the same without the trilby and sunglasses.

Looking good! There’s something to be said for an audio player with big buttons that move.

I always wonder if some of the people in your photos are making some kind of fashion statement or they just don’t give a damn. Godspeed walkman guy!
Lee says
Haha, Godspeed indeed!

He most certainly does!

Getting some Twisted Sister rock music and headbanging are now his next step.
But seriously, I am curious to know what kind of audio file he is listening to.

Abbey Road redux?
Lee says
Sort of, although it would have been so much better if he’d been barefoot…
MrSatyre says
Velvet pants never go out of style. I bet he has a truly outta sight pad to mellow out in!
Lee says
I do hope so!
