One of the most delightful sights as I take my walks in and around Tsukuba. The kids and their keepers are always ready to be “entertained” for a moment or two!

Yeah, they are lovely things to see, aren’t they? The kids always seem very happy being pushed around too.

Fantastic! Like a freeze-frame from what you just know would be a heartwarming movie…. 🙂

Thanks! Me too. It was a grey, very humid morning, but this made it feel much brighter.

I so love those little trolleys – what joy it is bringing to everyone concerned!

Little trolley? It’s a pink six wheeler. It certainly is a FAB one ;O)

The whole world is a stage..especially with a bag of leeks. It looks like a mouth organ accompaniment too.

Haha, hadn’t noticed that. She really does look like she’s playing one, doesn’t she? If only that had been the case!

This is a great capture, Lee! Hard to believe it’s been almost 10 years since I’d left Japan, but I’m glad to see that those carriers are still in use as they’re the cutest thing, especially if you’re having a down day. Here’s a pram full of children excitedly seeing the the world.

Thank you! That’s a long time, but as much as things have no doubt changed, you’ll be pleased to know (in some situations anyway!) that in most cases they really haven’t.

This made my day, at least the internet part of my day, which can be pretty discouraging lately. Thank you.

Happy to hear it. I know exactly what you mean, so to read that made my day too!

Great shot. I love that this was once a men’s shop converted into a neighborhood produce market.

Thanks for all the great photos over the years. Always a pleasant surprise when a new one shows up in my RSS reader.

Thanks. Yeah, me too. Have passed it countless times, but it has always been shuttered up, so it was nice to see it given a second life. It’s a nice old retro awning too.

You are very welcome. Taking photos is something that gives me an incredible amount of pleasure, and hearing that other people get something out of the results as well only heightens that pleasure further.

What a wonderful and joyous scene. Full of positive emotions spanning at least three generations. You’ve made a lot of people smile by sharing this photograph. It’s my wife’s new favourite. (This was her previous 🙂 https://www.tokyotimes.org/dolls-are-for-big-boys-as-well-as-little-girls/)

Thanks! Yeah, it was a genuinely lovely moment. Very happy I could be there, and capture it.

Other people getting something out of a photo I enjoyed taking is a very nice feeling. Makes the whole process even more pleasurable.

Glad to hear it. My challenge now is to take the next favourite!

Ha! I love it when the day cares take the munchkins out like this! This should be done everywhere.

Agreed. It makes everyone smile, plus more importantly it’s a safe and very practical way of getting the little ‘uns to and from wherever necessary.

Love this shot Lee and don’t recall ever seeing these things in use (but then that was 50 years ago). I hate to put a damper on things, but the first thought I had was a child crawling over the edge and landing headfirst on the concrete.

Thanks! They could well be a relatively modern thing. They certainly make sense with traffic and rogue cyclists.

Hadn’t thought of that. They are pretty high though, and as the kids all seem very content inside, such occurrences are hopefully unlikely.
