It’s often said that the Japanese hate confrontation of any kind, but it seems that even deeply rooted behavioural patterns can be overcome by the passion to posses branded goods.
As on Saturday in Fukuoka, a 23-year-old woman grabbed a male robber, and despite sustaining a wrist injury she managed to hold onto him until help arrived. Even after the 41-year-old criminal threatened to stab her the woman didn’t let go, and spurred on by brand bravado, she upped the pressure even further and grappled with him.
The thief’s mistake it seems was his choice of bag, as the lady later told the police, “He was trying to run away with my handbag which contained my precious Louis Vuitton purse, I wasn’t letting him go anywhere.â€

HAHA! YOU GO GIRL! Hell no, if I had an LV anything, you best believe it would have been a brawl til the end.

And to think, he could have walked three metres and been within striking distance of another 50 Louis Vuitton products.
Jarkko says
Haha! This is really hilarious! But whatever happens to the value of Louis Vuitton, if it is as common as Brett comments? What if the robber grabbed the bag exactly because it looked different from all the other Louis Vuitton bags? If it is rare, it must be valuable… From the mind of a criminal 😉
acetonic says
Well, there is a lot of “Louis Buitton” in Japan if you follow me. wink wink.
Brett says
Ha ha. That reminds me of my friend who bought a pair of “Poma” pants in Taiwan.

Man, I couldn’t believe how obsessed some women (and men) are about brand goods, its totally idiotic. Some women will forego thier heath and eat nothing but onigiri for a month just to afford the newest bag, only that everyone else has one , so your not trendy, you’re just a sheep. Anyways I figure If I wear something with a brands logo plastered all over it -they should be paying me for advertising, which is why I don’t ever wear brand goods. A good life with good freinds beats a crummy handhbag anyday, I think japanese women need to remember this.
