Wide-eyed cats in a Tokyo window

“Chibi-chan, quick quick, a foreigner!”

“A what? A foreigner? Let me see. Where? Where?”

“Hurry up. There he is. Down there. Look at him.”

“Oh yeah. Don’t see many of them round here. Isn’t he strange looking? What’s he doing?”

“No idea. But up to no good I reckon. Keep your eyes on him.”

“I will, I will.”

That’s funny. It does seem like they are looking at you the same way a couple of Japanese kids would.

Yeah, they definitely had the wide-eyed stare of young kids. The cat peeking out from the window also had that great mix of inquisitiveness/apprehension.

Love this shot and the narration. The cat inside just completes it.

Cheers! Yeah, the cat peeking out from inside is what made it for me.

Cheers! Must admit I’m not a cat person, but these two really amused me.

I wonder if they are some of the Murakami’s cats from Kafka on the Shore. Maybe one of them is a cat-killer. Watch out 🙂

Don’t worry, I was watching them as intently as they were watching me!

Cheers for the Murakami mention. A much needed reminder to get a copy of his latest.

By the look of their eyes, it seems that they know where you live. It’s better to always lock the doors, Lee.
    :D…

Thanks! The cats pretty much gave me the dialogue, although only by their expressions, not in any Murakami like way.
