There are always a lot of musicians playing in the park, a lot more than here in Canada anyway. Is it just not socially accepted here or are there just that many more musicians in Japan with no where to play?

I’m not sure that there are more musicians, but in Tokyo at least, many musicians I guess have nowhere to play except such public places. Or at least if they want free places.

Could not get the sound to work. Is it working on your side? Maybe it’s just my puter.

Love the website, just found it a couple of days ago and couldn’t stop looking at all the past entries. Excellent.

      Thanks Linette!

Sounds working again now. It seems the AudioBoo site where the audio was uploaded was down for a brief while.

Thanks so much! That’s the coolest thing to be able to hear such an ordinary bit of life. I bet that guy wouldn’t think his music would be interesting to people half way around the world. But it is! Thanks again!

    Lee,
Been coming here now for about a year, daily, and I have to say your posts when you add audio are superb. They add so much more to your photographs (which are already very good). Keep it up

Thanks a lot Tyler. I enjoy adding the audio myself. Just wish it was as easy to get as a picture.

I was watching the pictures for about 45 seconds after that I shut my eyes and tried to imagine myself in that park where the guy is playing (I’m on the other side of the globe though.).
Truly those posts are the best which contain audio. It makes the pictures more lively.
Keep up the good work, Lee!

Thanks szantaii. Glad you like them. And I’ll definitely try and add more audio when I can.

I never get tired of seeing this. Coming from a relatively conservative area in America, I never really saw this kind of thing until I came to Japan (I know, right? Says something about my hometown…). It’s great to watch people so lose themselves in their own enjoyment.

I’m the same David. Scenes like this always fascinate me, although I have seen similar stuff back home. The fact you haven’t really does say something about your hometown!

I hope that you got your spoons out, Lee, for a bit of magical jamming!

Love the pictures. Playing the ukulele in the park is always a good idea.
