A less than glamorous Tokyo red carpet at lunch time

With the lights, the drinks and the elaborately bouffanted hosts and hostesses, it was likely all very different the night before. In the decidedly less than forgiving light of lunch time the following day, however, the glamour had most definitely long gone.

That bar as a kinda reverse pillow seemed to work out great! 🙂

Yeah, it really did. He appeared to sleep better like that than I do in a comfy bed…

Sad but true: I’ve seen people looking far worse for wear the day/morning after in your photos (and in real life)!

That’s a very good call. His rosy cheeks were likely just flushed cos of all the booze coursing though his veins, but still, if it had been me drunk and asleep there, I’d have probably looked almost translucent, with maybe a hint of green when I eventually woke up!

Note the beer can on the step below the man. And his phone (?), etc by his feet. Only in Japan could someone wake up and still find his stuff there.

Yeah, that’s very true. Seen this so many times. Often wallets by their side too. Of course theft does happen, but definitely not as much as in many other countries.

Halfway Down (the stairs) by A. A. Milne hops to mind.
He can certainly say he has slept on bars before today, and maybe like Cat Power, has lived in them.

Ah, that’s a lovely reference. When he woke up surprised he wasn’t in his own bed, he may well have said to himself, “It’s somewhere else
      Instead!”

“This is not my beautiful bed ..
        It’s somewhere else instead”

        and it even rhymes!

I’ve just noticed the positioning of those two vents(?) either side of his head, and the ‘gold’ on the can matching the opulence of his surroundings. Neat!
