Abandoned old Tokyo and canned coffee eye-contact

This old, slowly collapsing hairdressers has fascinated me for a long time, and these first two photos were taken just over three years ago.

Then, when passing last week, I was incredibly pleased to see the fella below sat outside having a quick canned coffee break. Photographs that further document the deterioration, as well as proving that excited responses aren’t always reciprocal.

    Where has all the shrubbery gone?
    or even the cosy coiffure?
    I don’t think that the caffeine has kicked in, nor the realisation that he is balancing the reds.

      Lots of unanswered questions with this one. And yes, whether he knew it or not, he provided a very nice balance indeed.

        This building is actually in Tokyo?!? I have not seen places like that in the city before.

          It is. Always surprising how many places similar to this it’s possible to find in Tokyo. They aren’t everywhere of course, but there are a lot more than you’d think.
