An alien, watching another alien, waiting for a bento in Tokyo

Whether made at home or bought in one of countless shops all over the country, the humble bento — or lunch box — is arguably just as much a part of Japanese culture as sushi and sake. A meal regularly enjoyed by tens of millions of locals everyday, along with even the odd alien or two.

I love this shot. The juxtaposition of the blue and yellow is so nice, and I love the aliens weird little outfit and unicorn horn… is he advertising something?

      Thank you!

Yeah, the colours are really nice. Lovely and dated.

He just seems to be being polite to customers with his いらっしゃいませ (welcome) sign. But why they chose an alien is anyone’s guess.

Ah, JyaJya Udon. A cold udon dish served with spicy miso, pork and mushrooms I think. Ideal for this time of year.

If aliens were to live in hiding in Tokyo, it would explain so much 🙂
