A fashion item that in this case has a shelf-life even shorter than the most fleeting of fads, although at the same time it will fortunately be forever wearable at least once a year.

In Shibuya, where feisty is a fairly good word to describe the fashion, and also the way some folk show their feelings, it makes a nice change, as well as quite a contrast, to see togs of a much more traditional nature.

Even the briefest of walks around the likes of Shinjuku or Harajuku will produce a dazzling array of fashion along with an enormous number of phones. All of which are sported by similarly assorted age groups. Characteristics that in many ways could arguably be said to sum up Tokyo’s shopping and entertainment areas in a nutshell.
