Harem scare ’em

A man in western Tokyo is currently under police investigation due to his unusual living arrangements, the 57-year-old sharing his home with a staggering ten women. Yet despite all the ladies being in their 20s and 30s, officials have stressed that Hirohito Shibuya is not being pushed to divulge his phenomenal pulling power. Rather, they are looking into a claim that one woman was told not to spill the beans about the situation after she refused an invitation to join, Shibuya-san allegedly threatening her by saying, “You will be in danger if you tell this to anybody”.

Japanese playboy

The group’s unusual set-up started in February 2000, when Shibuya divorced his wife and started living with several women. An incident he has never looked back from, as after a few more marriages and divorces he has continued to increase his number of partners, the majority of those who have divorced him opting to stay on at the house — most of them also choosing to retain his family name.

In a residential area where curtains must be continually twitching, neighbours maintain that shifty Shibuya stays at home every day, whereas the young women go out each morning — presumably to work. Although this is not to say that the 57-year-old is nothing but a lazy ladies man, as he claims to practice fortune-telling from the house. A profession that appears to have played a major role in creating this unconventional situation in the first place, the middle-aged mystic telling investigators that, “After starting fortune-telling at home, female clients have gathered around me, and now we lead a communal life, just like polygamy”.

Shibuya further added to his mystique — whilst at the same time hinting at a secret that could net him a fortune — by saying, “I realised that I can attract women by reciting a charm”.

A statement that going off appearances could well be true.

*Update: It has since been reported that during a search of the house investigators found a stun gun and tear gas spray, suggesting that Shibuya-san backed his charms and captivating good looks with rather more forceful measures.

Toy terror

Youngsters that kick up a fuss after not getting their own way rarely make the news, but Mrs. Ichikawa’s son did a lot more than throw a tantrum after his request for more dolls was turned down; as unable to control his temper, the feisty young fella angrily set fire to his futon, resulting in the family home being burnt to the ground.

Realising the error of his ways, Hiroyuki Ichikawa did try and rectify the situation, promptly turning himself in at the police station. The futon felon tearfully telling the officer in charge, “I argued with my mother after she refused to grant my request to buy me dolls. I started the fire to vent my frustration.”

An excuse that may not save young Hiroyuki from prosecution — or indeed ridicule — as at 27-years-old, he’s probably a little too old for tantrums.

And dolls.

Silicone sex serial

As silicone dolls gradually edge their way into Japan’s sex industry with rental services and a latex love hotel of sorts, it’s perhaps not surprising that there is now a magazine focusing entirely on this flourishing fetish.

latex doll

With such a first rate name, idoloid will presumably become the publication of choice for the nation’s doll devotees. Each edition containing glossy pictures of the latest ladies, along with helpful advice for successful ‘relations’.

There are also numerous features to enjoy, covering burning issues such as “Silicone Sex Satisfaction”, “Latex Lubrication” and the gut wrenching but ultimately uplifting, “Love Doll Love”.

Should you really want to, going here and then clicking on the top picture will reveal a few thumbnails from the latest edition. Most of which it has to be said are definitely not safe for work. Choosing the ‘BackNo’ link on the left of the page will allow you similar access to the rest of the issues.

Farming find

For the past 40 years or so, Sumiko Funahashi has grown vegetables near her home in koga, Ibaraki Prefecture. Yet whilst perhaps having found the odd amusingly shaped turnip, the 68-year-old housewife has never come across anything shaped quite like this before.

The dazzling daikon (radish) was pulled out of the ground at the end of November, and since then, nearby residents have been making trips to see it — treating this unique member of the mustard family as a good luck charm of sorts. Funahashi-san herself proudly claiming, “I won’t eat the radish for the moment and have put it on display in the alcove of my home.”

This unusual root vegetable veneration it turns out is due to the fact its shape is likened to that of a baby sitting up. A view that makes one wonder what on earth Ibaraki infants look like.

Tongue-tied

Exposing one’s genitalia in public to random strangers is admittedly far from normal, yet if that was all he’d done, Osama Tsuji would probably be labeled as nothing more than a bit of a pervert. His extra curricular activities only fit for inclusion in a local publication. Even then just on slow news days.

Unfortunately, flaunting his old fella to unsuspecting passersby turns out to be nothing more than a party piece of sorts for the 35-year-old, his real ‘passion’ being licking young girls’ tongues. Yes, as bizarre as it sounds, Tsuji admitted to the practice after his arrest for indecent exposure in Gifu Prefecture. The medical equipment company employee getting caught revealing his private parts to a 35-year-old housewife as she came out of an elevator.

Yet to pursue his tongue related tendencies, Tsuji-san eschewed loitering around lifts and instead approached young girls (aged between 7 and 10 years old) near apartment buildings. Then once accosted, he would ask his victims to stick out their tongue — which he would promptly lick. The Gifu native allegedly assaulting over 20 youngsters in this freakish manner.

In an apparent attempt to explain his behaviour, Tsuji told investigators that, “I was on bad terms with my wife, and was frustrated.”
