Comatose in a coffee shop

Finding a seat in a Tokyo coffee shop is not always easy; in fact, at certain times of the day, in seriously desirable spots, it’s practically impossible.

And it’s a situation that’s made even worse when customers are intent on nursing a tea for an eternity, or, in this particular case, clearly in need of a cup containing considerably more caffeine.

In Hawaii they’d throw your unprofitable ass out. Then again you also can’t endlessly read books and magazines in bookstores or at 7-11 either.

Yeah, even after all these years, the convenience store/library thing still amazes me.

What is it with Japanese men needing to take off their shoes to sleep?

What amazes me is simply the ability to sleep that, and somewhere so public. For someone who sometimes struggles to sleep in a darkened room and in a comfy bed, I’m more than a little envious.

It looks like there is (possibly) a woman sitting across from him. Was she asleep as well? Or maybe she slipped something into his tea? . . . .

It was a man if I remember correctly Lizzy, and he was busy playing on his DS. Which wasn’t surprising really considering his friend’s conversational abilities.

Funny, Japanese are legend when sleeping anywhere is about, don’t know if this is true for all of them…
But, comatose, isn’t that a little bit too exagerated xD ?
And yes, too much people these days………

    Jamesmallon read my mind.

Well, Lee, there’s always the slightly less crowded Nagoya and its 50+ Starbucks 🙂

Oh wait, they’re jammed up, too 🙂

    Great post, sir!

It’s amazing.I don’t know how they do it.Woot!Remembered my grandfather, used to fall asleep mostly during dinner!Used to wake him up and ask him about World War 2 and the legendary battles in the Albanian mountains.
That bliss skipped a generation or 2.
