Despite several other outlets serving similarly sweet foodstuffs — and a few further factors facing the new franchise — the Japanese mantra of ‘if it’s new, we will come — en masse’ has once again been put into effect, with the first Krispy Kreme shop in Japan receiving the customary fad-based fanfare over the weekend.
And whilst the elderly security guard fortunately found the crowd sedate as well as sweet-toothed, the huge amount of people was reminiscent of the recent PlayStation 3 pandemonium.
Which in 6 months time could well have dwindled to a couple of foreigners and the odd donut devotee.

It is indeed surprising how Krispy Kreme is viewed as some sort of plush food outside America. It is not only getting Japanese excited and into the queueing mood, but it has been around in London for a bit now, not at some convenient store, but Harrods! When I have a rare craving for some Krispy Kreme, I just go to the cheap, local supermarket to get it. Dirt cheap, no queue, no fuss, diabetic-inducingly sweet and potentially my last meal ever.

Had those donuts a few times… Really good.
But when I take a shower and take a look at my belly… I’d want to stop eating it.
Eitherway, I guess Krispy Cream is going to be pricy for now, and like you siad, 6 month later, drop it’s price to normal (Finally) when most of the “Temporary Fans” moved on to some other new stuffs.
I love japanese girls, but I sure wouldn’t want to date one of those “Phenominon Fans”, it’d be stressful to line up for hours just so I can spoil girls I love in to a fat, dieabetic, emotional (yet diabetic?) “TIGER” who’d be mad without her daily dose(s) of (insert addicited itme(s) here) =_=|||
Anyways, this is my first post, nice to meet you all~!! ^_^
(If this message ever gets out, that is… =_=|||)
