That awful moment when the alcohol-fuelled feeling of rock and roll invincibility begins to fade, resulting in an intense tiredness and the overwhelming desire to be nowhere other than warmly tucked up in one’s own bed.

I can’t even imagine how they must be feeling after that!:) by the way you’ve photographed this place before right? Or am I mistaking it for another location?:)
You’ve capture the essence of the social drinkers dilema with the combination of your photograph and caption.
Although you are pleased to have maintained the perfect drinking rate that walks the line between keeling over and losing the high, you have reached the point when you look at each new drink wondering whether the prolongation of the “moment” it will bless you with is worth the more severe crash its entangled curse will aflict you with.
I’ve a notion that a black and white version of this and your other “”end of the session” photographs with an accompanying Tom Waits soundtrack (https://youtu.be/Dixxse4dpQ4) would make a most immersive installation in a gallery somewhere.

I know eh? Hope he didn’t have a long journey home on a busy Saturday train…
I have, yes. A few times. Of more recent ones, this shot includes the same beer crates: https://goo.gl/TV7CdP
And this one is much worse, especially in regards how she must have felt afterwards. It was taken just a few metres further on: https://goo.gl/x3CmR9

Yes, a massive hangover kicking in so early really can’t have been much fun…

Thank you.
That’s so very true. And a decision that gets increasingly difficult the more befuddled the brain becomes…
Oh, thanks for that. Double thanks in fact. That’s a lovely thought, plus it has been far too long since I’ve listened to a bit of Tom Waits.

An installation with a bar and a few beer crates to sit on, lest it gets too dystopian?
Is Tom Waits popular in Japan?
Lee says
That sounds absolutely perfect!
Good question. Not sure to be honest. He’s certainly not unknown, but I haven’t seen or heard a lot about him here.
