Happy drinkers in a grubby little Tokyo bar

The beer was cheap, the decor faded and the clientele all incredibly friendly.

More people who are actually happy to be photographed by you! Did you buy them drinks?

I know eh? Maybe it’s becoming a thing! No, I didn’t. They insisted on buying us drinks.

Likewise. Always great places to spend a few enjoyable hours.

Actually it was neither. Shochu and soy milk seemed to be the beverage of choice there. They were all drinking it.

How do you manage to get so many pictures without the obligatory peace sign? Paul McCartney has a lot to be sorry for!

The majority of my photos are candid, so that explains most of them. But on rare occasions like this, I ask them not to pose — meaning no peace sign! To be fair though, these fellas weren’t the posing types.

“Non of that Sir Paul stuff fellas …please!”
That would doubly ensure they don’t start off with “Mull of Kintyre”.

They could try ‘Yokohama tyre’ though? :O)

Well, the fella on the right got kicked out later in the evening. He tried to come back in after, and the bar owner was having none of it. So perhaps he went further still and started off with, “We All Stand Together”…

and I found from a Dutch version. “We are (all) standing next to each other”.
            A lively place then :O)

It was, although in a very friendly way. Or at least everything I experienced was. No idea why the fella got thrown out. Didn’t even hear any commotion. Just happened to look over (there are small seating areas on both sides of the counter), and the owner had him by the back of the next and was escorting him out. Very unusual.
