Japanese holiday happiness

With national holidays offering a relatively rare chance for many Japanese workers to kick back and contemplate three consecutive days off, what better way to spend (at least) one of them than by wrapping up and relaxing with a long lunch,

    These are really awesome pics. Judging by the coats, it looks like it was a bit chilly. I think I’d have settled for hot tea in a polystyrene cup. (With perhaps a hip flask for the odd tot of whiskey.)

    Chilly yes, but in the sun it’s surprisingly pleasant. A far cry from the grey and miserable winter days back home.

    There’s always the option of hot sake too. Not my, erm, cup of tea, but perfect for winter.

    Great pics, and I like that they’re in b&w. There’s a real sense of a pocket of peace even with all the people in the background.
