Japanese only joint

The contrived cosplay-themed compliance of Japan’s forever multiplying number of maid cafes means that they are something of an acquired taste to say the least. But on a cool and damp autumnal day, the warm glow of this maid-related getaway does look rather inviting.

However, with a price list based on time and not tea, it’s fair to say that soapy sojourns rather than sugary snacks are very much the order of the day.

Hence the age requirements.

And, for reasons unknown, race restrictions.

Don’t they only restrict certain establishments to “Japanese Only!” because naughty stuff goes on and they are worried about foreigners giving the ladies an STD?

It was nice of them to exclude Koreans and Chinese too, not just whitey. Hey, the club of those excluded is bigger than those included! We win!

Brett, good question. I think the guy’s name is Daisuke. He’s the only one allowed in…very, very exclusive clientèle.

It took me a while but I finally understand that though Japanese society values politeness, there is often the same underlying conniving and back-biting that is just as nasty as what one gets in Jersey; only the style of presentation is different.

    R. Elgin : You hit the nail on the head.

It’s for that reason that I have a difficult time feeling comfortable in Japan. I have no idea what people actually think of me and who is actually my friend.

MigukNamja from my experience the nicer a Japanese person is to you the least likely that they’re your friend.

Good find and nice clear photos of the sign.

What I would like is for some foreigner, who can speak Japanese, to go in there still. Then just be like, in Japanese, “dude, I AM Japanese, what are you talking about?”

Even better, bring a camera crew. I’d volunteer to bring my Xacti. I’m leaving Japan in a few months anyway so got nothing to lose.

Japanese only because of problems with non Japanese understanding the rules. Foreigners at Japanese sex businesses tend to “want their money’s worth” and expect intercourse which is against the rules and the law. That and the local men dont want a woman who has been with a foreigner.

I read an article awhile back about an American who became a Japanese citizen. He’s a sort of agitator, and likes to challenge discrimination in court. If I remember correctly, he won a case where he was banned from an onsen (hot spring) because he wasn’t Japanese.

AIDS is rampant in Asia, and is certainly not very widespread in Japan. Beyond the normal xenophobia you find in varying degrees in Japan, I think there’s a good reason why they might want to ban foreigners from their sex establishments.

(Japan has recorded 9,953 HIV cases and 4,671 AIDS cases as of August 2008. Of those, 6,503 HIV and 3,002 AIDS cases were in the Kantō region. – Wikipedia)

Try doing the same damn thing in America against the Japanese and see what happens. “Qrick!! Gret your ACLU card out!!’ Ahh. Soo.” Try sticking up a “No Japs” sign up as a test. When the cops come to arrest you, point out that they do the VERY same thing in Japan. The Japanese are the MOST hypocritical “people” on the earth and for anyone to deny this is a flat out liar. Japanese supremacists are out there every single day of the year , blasting out about how they are better than everyone on the planet.

They always mark the day the bomb was dropped on them, whenever it was them who started the war in the first place. They always bitch about how many “innocent children” were killed, but somehow fail to mention about what the Japanese did to the babies in China, of throwing them up into the air and stabbing them with their bayonets.

They also blame EVERYTHING that is “bad” on “gaijin” or somehow if a Japanese person is caught doing something wrong, it somehow gets blamed on the, big, bad, “gaijin” What about when someone well known in Japan gets caught with some drugs? What do they say? “I bought it from a gaijin” Now, I’m not saying that all foreign people who stay in Japan are innocent, but to blame all your problems on foreigners every time something bad happens, is beyond delusional.

Japan needs to get their fucking head straight. Own up to YOUR OWN responsibility!! You are all not “innocent”, not “unique” or “special” so quit acting like it and grow a pair. Be a fucking person, not a fucking robot that “NEVER does anything wrong” because it isn’t fooling all of us. Fucking hypocrites.

These types of establishments deal with the freaky and the geeky everyday;it is just about possible for these businesses to arrange services in Japanese for their customers. Can you imagine the demands that would be placed on them if they really had to provide these services in a foreign language? It would mean employing staff that were properly trained in cross cultural communication and be fluent in English(rare in Japan). This would be intensively time consuming and costly for the staff and management. Therefore, in order for the business to be profitable, it is really out of economic necessity that all non Japanese be excluded.

Long time ago lived in Fussa City next to an air base. Was in my early 20’s then and one of the guys mentioned we are headed to a “pig farm” and thought well must be going to a animal circus of sorts boy was I wrong. Locals play rock and scissors game to go on stage and have sex in front of everyone. Assume these places are still open. They are all over the place not like seven-elevens though.

If I ever got caught in brothel in the US would use this defense and see if it works if any does please post information.

All the cities have local Japanese bars with tons of women all over the place but a lot of them are racial as well unless you know the language and can pass for one of them your out of luck.

    Happy hunting

Weird, that a xenophobic establishment regards English as cutesy/chic enough to use in their title.

The answer to “why” they are “Japanese Only” is pretty easy.

Essentially most of these places are run by the mafia. Japanese people understand the “rules” and gaijin may or may not understand the “rules”. As such, if anything bad happens, the foreigners are much more apt bring in the outside police. Where if it’s an “internal” issue, the police let the mafia police their own areas.

There was an example of this a few years ago at a couple kissa. Some white people ended up doing something “wrong” and the police were called in.

In the end, it’s just not worth it for these places to let non-Japanese in.
