To say that Tokyo is teeming with greenery and open space would be a lie, yet there are still plenty of concrete-free comfort zones. Ok, so many of them aren’t especially beautiful, plus they have to be shared by an awful lot of people, but even a packed out and pocket-sized park has to be better than this lousy lunch location.
Doesn’t it?
englishman says
in osaka we can only dream of gorgeous open spaces like that

Why not sit by the lake in the background? It’s quite near their current location but is much more attractive. Or is it prohibited? There seems to be a lot of greenery…
Tokyo Girl says
No, Larm, it would be far too hot sitting by the lake; they need the shade of the train tracks to survive. It’s hot, hot, hot.
Surronded says
They could bring a “beach” umbrella or two
yanwong says
What kind of people would fancy having lunch in this location, I wonder?

…Yakuza in training
Hexxenn says
How cyberpunk.

I adore Japan as well as Tokyo and would be happy to have lunch or dinner anywhere in there. By the way, there are absolutely glorious places in Tokyo — anywhere one goes it is not difficult to find something to make one feel welcome. It is also very difficult to have a bad meal anywhere in Japan… I miss it so!

Are just my tired eyes or they have a drum??
tom says
I think the drum is actually a cooler
Nurizeko says
Where im from its fairly green, and most folk have a yard, suffice to say i wonder what drives folk to picnic under a train bridge :S
Ohwell, i guess i’ll find out when i visit japan soon…
