It may well have been early Saturday afternoon rather than Sunday morning, but when it’s still hot and the week’s work is finally done, why not squeeze into a tiny old bar and down a few?

A nice way to spend the afternoon… forgivable on the weekends I suppose!
Is that Omoide Yokocho in Shinjuku? I used to love it there but many of the bars have been cleaned up and slightly gentrified of late. Indeed many of these small counter bars in places like Omoide Yokocho or elsewhere in the capital are owned and run by Chinese people now but they still manage to feel raw and authentic: the sort of place only locals know about and love. As your great shot shows.

Yes, not bad at all. There are far worse things to do that’s for sure. And like you say, it’s very forgivable at the weekend!

Excellent, keep them coming please, I really enjoy these shots!
Lee says
Cheers!
I certainly intend to as I really enjoy taking shots like this, particularly in places like these.

These are my favorite shots of yours. I don’t know how you get to photograph people in bars, but I really enjoy that type of pictures. Excellent mood!
Lee says
Thanks!
Some I’m in and so take a few discreet photos, whereas others like this one open out into the street, allowing for a shot of the interior.

Thanks a lot, Damon.
Yeah, that’s the spot. I still like it there, but like you say, it’s definitely being gentrified. All in the name of progress…
