Jaundiced Jennifer

Many modern Japanese love dolls it has to be said are state-of-the-art creations — their life-like attributes making them popular playthings in a plethora of settings, such as rental and room-hire services. Yet due to the high cost of such silicone satisfaction, not all dutch wives are so technologically advanced, with some ‘discount dolls’ requiring rather more in the realm of imagination.

However despite her far from arousing appearance, ‘Jennifer’ doesn’t come that cheaply, so to speak, costing a far from thrifty 39,000 yen ( 175 pound). The price tag possibly reflecting a few features not immediately obvious, as not only is the legless lump labelled as ‘sexy’, but is also a staff recommendation — although whether that be from experience or mere hearsay isn’t disclosed.

Lighten up

For any maid or anime loving Akihabara addict, the Sexy Leg Lamp could well be the ideal purchase, helping brighten the most crepuscular and character-clogged room.

The novelty item perhaps even also allowing the user to, ahem, finally see the light.

Lecherous lavatory lover?

It would appear that the career of high school teacher Yasushi Fukuda is currently at something of a crossroads, as in court on Thursday the presumably embarrassed educator admitted to trespassing in the home of a student on August 3rd.

Making a ‘house call’ at the rather unusual hour of 3 a.m., the 47-year-old part-timer managed to silently sneak through the back door of a favoured female student’s family home; however the light from his torch alerted a member of the household, resulting in Fukuda-san’s apprehension — his capture coming moments before the lavatory lover could fulfill his aim, which was to take furtive photos of the bathroom.

something like this perhaps

Thursday’s initial hearing it seems only tackled the issue of trespassing, but hopefully Fukuda’s further appearances may help explain whether he’s simply a lewd lavatory letch, or alternatively just a fella with a fondness for bathroom furniture. The teacher’s decidedly unsociable hours perhaps explained by his busy schedule, as the police found the addresses of 10 or so other students in the industrious instructor’s car.

Royal resting place

Whilst Emperor Hirohito (or Showa) may well have been born a ‘god’ and yet died a mere man — with the repercussions of his reign still felt to this very day — his final resting place is reflected in the role he retained, whether rightly or wrongly,

up until the very end.

Caledonian cosplay

The word ‘cosplay’ generally conjures images of young anime or game lovers decked out in a myriad of bizarre and colourful costumes; however for those with interests far away from such fantasyland folly, there are still options to don an elaborate costume now and again to briefly escape the confines of the real world.

Take the Japan Scottish Highland Games for example (warning, link contains a brief burst of bagpipe music) — an event best known for burly blokes tossing their cabers, yet at the same time, for fans of all things Scottish, it offers the perfect opportunity for a spot of cultural costume play. The young fella pictured below even going to the trouble of perfecting his paunch to do the role real justice.
