Peeping professor

The picture below is Kazuhide Uekusa. Renowned economist, regular television commentator, and professor at the prestigious Waseda University.

But on Monday, Mr. Uekusa was arrested for peeping at Tokyo’s Shinagawa station. He wasn’t however just trying to have a crafty peek up a woman’s skirt, or a quick leer at her cleavage. No, the perverted professor was caught on an escalator, trying to look up the skirt of a 15 year old schoolgirl with a small mirror.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. How terribly embarrassing!

But will it change Japanese attitudes to perverts? No, probably not. It’s scary that they’re mildly accepted as people that exist. I hope the fact that someone of such prestige is a perv they’ll realise that it’s become far too dangerous a problem.

I don’t think it will make any difference at all. Admittedly someone of his standing getting caught is unusual, but the number of policeman and teachers arrested for similar behaviour is unbelievable.

But it just goes on just the same.

Perhaps he was doing thong marketing research?

That’s my type of educator! It’s essentially research so he knows when he gets back into the classroom which of his pupils are dilating. Hope that’s not too rude, mon

I hope the fact that someone of such prestige is a perv they’ll realise how normal it is.
