    Reminds me of the pubs in the 70’s when you could still find a ‘spit and sawdust’ that was quiet and sold good beer. It looks like he’s been there a while from the ashtray in front of him.

      Yeah, they are few and far between now…

      It’s not clear in the photo, but that’s actually a stick of yakitori on a plate, not an ashtray. A lot easier to make out on the full sized image.

          I guess we’ll never know how full the ashtray was, but I reckon your initial thought would be about right.
