Tokyo red light lunch spot

Despite the red light, these fellas were after nothing more unseemly than a quick sit down and some sustenance. But as well as food, they obviously like a bit of atmosphere; something this alleyway has in abundance. So much in fact that it almost feels like another world when compared to the chain restaurant clogged main street a mere few metres away.

I read once that Asia is a great place for a specific kind of activity called “Treasure Hunting” with all the risks, obstacles and rewards that await the adventurer.
    .
I guess that unlike what TV shows, the word “treasures” would refer to more than gold, silver and precious stones and would range from old books, furniture from the past, to ancient recipes of food and music and other types of entertainment that could now be found only at more peripheral areas like red zone disctricts which is something that great franchises tend to (sometimes unfortunately) eliminate.
    .
It is also mysterious to verify another treasure that one might find in one of popular places might be what we use to call… friendship and companionship, like talking to a nice waiter/waitress or cook.

Interesting point. Certainly for me, finding an old, grubby bar is akin to treasure hunting. Deciding on an area, exploring, and then choosing a place to go into. They aren’t always the greatest, but now and again it’s possible to strike “gold”.

Me too. They came out even better than I hoped.

      And yes, he was!

In fact if that’s not the best “giving you the look” you’ve ever captured, it’s got to be way up there at least.

Haha, it is quite a look, isn’t it? My social skills clearly need a lot of work!

Both gentlemen are giving you an interesting look. One definitely is a bit…shall we say friendly? The other is most definitely guarded and unfriendly. You always have such a gift for capturing amazing expressions.

Thanks a lot. Very kind of you to say so.

Yes, that sums up their expressions perfectly. Same outfits. Presumably the same office. But seemingly quite different characters.
