Uber-efficient Tokyo food delivery

The uber-efficent delivery of food is a tried and long tested process in Japan. Traditional bicycle transportation may well have (mostly) given way to faster motorbikes, but invariably it’s still the fella who made the dish that also delivers it. And while a well-known American company is very visibly making inroads, there’s thankfully still lots of sights like this on the roads.

Cheers! I know eh? That’s what caught my attention. The lights had just turned red, but there was no way he was going to stop!

The guy sure looks like he’s on a mission! I love the colors, the reds, yellows and blues. Very cool! 🙂

He does. Someone, somewhere was going to get their lunch in super quick time!

Cheers. Yes, they worked out really nicely.

The heel-toe shifter might work for flip flops but something more than a YMCA hat might be necessary at such speeds?
I’m sadly wondering if the his trusty steed is ‘classic’ Honda or something a bit more recent.

I very like the pony tail and bunny ears.

I know eh? So many delivery people on motorbikes (especially restaurant owners like this fella and those dropping off newspapers) wear either wholly unsuitable headwear, or old style helmets hanging off the back of their heads. I know it must be warm and all that, but still…

I’m no expert, but I think it’s the pretty much standard Super Cub. Looks like a newer one though. They are still making them I think, even though they seem to run forever.

Me too. I clocked the ponytail straight away, but I didn’t notice the bunny ears til I was editing it. A very nice little surprise!

A Supakabu? I can’t help but see this as a box lid for a model kit especially as you timed this one so well. He must have been heading for the ‘cover’ of those jumpers and dresses in the ‘anonymous dress shop’ at quite a speed.

A ‘fully covid’ helmet might be warm but doubly useful these days.

Cheers. Ah, I like that idea a lot. The ‘anonymous’ shop too. Be interesting to know what it was in its former incarnation.

He certainly wasn’t hanging about. Luckily I was waiting at the lights giving me the chance to get away one frame. And yeah, double the heat, but much more importantly, double the Protection.
