When there’s even more to worry about than usual, a couple of drinks, with good company, in comfortably uncomplicated surroundings, is sometimes just what’s called for.
Yeah, I like it there as there are always a few interesting characters about. Well, Ueno in general really. But at the same time, the large number of homeless there is really depressing.
“Street food” is a big West Coast fad these days. Of course, being the puritanical U.S., alcohol is not served. I would have loved to have plopped down for a glass or two. Especially now.
talking about drinks… went for groceries yesterday and noticed all Suntory whiskey was sold out, “because of the earthquake”. Huh?? Who’s hoarding my whiskey?!
Just back from my local supermarket and they had plenty in stock. There was one particular whiskey that had sold out though. Maybe a coincidence. Not sure.
