Happy?

happy?

Sound advice it has to be said. But the problem is, where are we supposed to find (or buy if needs be) a happy?

Slang it turns out is a hairdressers and makeup salon. Surely such a thing can’t be so easily acquired, can it?

Sexy Santa #2

Christmas day itself is pretty much a non-event in Japan, and generally it’s just another day at work for most people. Especially as the 23rd is a national holiday to mark the Emperor’s birthday.

Fortunately things are a little better this year with the big day falling on a Saturday, and even better news is that the Tokyu Hands department store is selling some festive outfits that will lift the spirits of even the biggest Christmas humbug.

The shop’s Christmas wreath hat/mask however is not quite as appealing.

Accessory assault

We all have our pet hates, but a 68-year-old resident of Osaka’s complete disdain for earrings ended in his arrest last week.

Finding himself drunk and in the vicinity of two teenage girls having the audacity to wear earrings, the man took it upon himself to teach them a lesson or two. And promptly proceeded to give them a few kicks, plus some further blows to the head for good measure.

The youngsters had little warning of the impending violence, as apart from a pre-attack question of “What do you think you are wearing in your ears?” the man gave little or no indication regarding his absolute hatred of earlobe attachments.

Fortunately a slightly older girl with the two victims (who was presumably not wearing anything in her ears) phoned the police. Resulting in the immediate arrest of the deranged drunk.

During questioning, the man admitted to the attack, and attempted to defend his behaviour by saying, “I was intending to reprimand them about their clothes and so on.”

Now what the girls were wearing, and what kind of earrings they were sporting wasn’t disclosed, but even monstrosities like these wouldn’t warrant a full-scale assault.

Ogling Ogata

As a keen follower of swimwear fiber development, I’m happy to announce that Synthetic fiber-maker Toray Industries has unveiled its 2005 swimsuit line-up.

And as luck would have it, campaign girl Sayaka Ogata kindly tried on one of the new designs for the cameras.

I could try and justify such a gratuitous shot of a young lady in a swimsuit by describing the fabrics used, colours available, cost etc.

But I won’t.

Eco bra

Triumph International, famed maker of both the Haruurara and maiko themed bras, has upped the ante even further by producing a completely recyclable design made specifically for the Expo 2005 Aichi Japan.

The slightly unusual looking item of underwear is made from corn, Deccan hemp, and paper. But sadly for anyone interested in acquiring one, they are for the Expo only, and will not be made available to the general public.

And after that rather pointless and decidedly dull preamble, here’s a picture of said bra. The only reason for this rather lame post.
