A lovely Asakusa sight, on a lousy rainy season afternoon.

Young and old. Modern and traditional. The almost constant contrasts that make Tokyo a joy to meander around.

Tokyo isn’t perfect. Not by any stretch of the imagination. But it is undeniably still a decent place to live.
That said, if more of the city’s citizens were even half as relaxed and ready with a smile as this man, then without a doubt it would be a truly wonderful location to call home.

Keep staring. Don’t look away. And whatever you do, don’t blink.

This young entertainer in a Tokyo park had the lot. He told jokes. Possessed a whole host of great visual gags. Plus along with countless other tricks, he could juggle knives and eat an apple at the same time. A performance so consummate in fact, that it could only be equalled by the wonderful expressions of those watching.
