Random Japanese people #4

Just like the amount of silver-haired citizens in the Japanese capital, the number of rather happily named ‘silver homes’ seems to be similarly on the rise. But for those that can’t afford the fees, or whose kids can’t answer the traditional call of caring for them, times in Tokyo can be hard.

Happen even horribly so.

Costly Tokyo Coffee?

The global recession may well be having an increasing impact on Japan, but at the same time, there’s obviously still an abundance of wealth walking about as, tough times or not, this drinking den hasn’t deemed it necessary to ease its yen-based restrictions just yet.

And needless to say my pitiful attempt at gaining entry received a rigid rejection right there on the street due to a lack of both the required Rolex and a beautiful, brand-laden lady-friend.

Japanese mobile phone misery?

The failure of Apple’s iPhone to mesmerise the Japanese mobile phone market may, among other things, mean that many consumers don’t want easy-to-use and intuitive machines — instead preferring the clunky and cumbersome menus they have been managing with for many moons now.

But, whereas a dizzying selection of displays may be ok for those that have grown up with such gadgetry, for older folk less familiar with a formidable amount of functions, simply sending a text can be taxing,

as well as terribly time consuming.

Decidedly dodgy Japanese dolls

With their ultra-realistic as well as inflated features, state-of-the-art Japanese silicone sex dolls are apparently the perfect permanent, or even part-time, partner. However, considering the current strength of Japan’s currency, and the fact that they retail at around 600,000 yen, it’s a colossal amount of money for a small country to pay, let alone a punter.

Thankfully though there are cheaper alternatives for those with such passions — or indeed those whose passions remain unreciprocated.

But despite some rather bold claims, that required realism really isn’t there.

The only possible bonus being that nipple enhancers are noticeably not needed.

Japanese workers working #3

Well, if he’s not working, he’s certainly on his way there.

Albeit wearily.
