Japanese food and fashion fusion?

The Japanese love of food and fads can only be equalled by the nation’s fondness for fashion, so this new beef-themed beauty from ‘PC Entertainment Company’ Solid Alliance, is possibly the perfect product.

making it ideal for fashionistas and foodies alike.

A gimmick guaranteed to garner the odd glance, or even a grin, which, coming from the nation’s ‘happiest “Unique Gadget Produce Company”’, is just as it should be.

Japanese marriage meltdown

Just like everywhere else in the world, weddings in Japan are both pleasurable and pricey, regardless of whether they are traditional Shinto ceremonies, or less formal, foreigner officiated affairs.

In fact, the main difference from weddings in the West used to be the rather low divorce rate — but not anymore. Separations are now nowhere near as scarce, and, due to a recent change in the law regarding a partner’s pension payments, the numbers look set to soar.

However, when a marriage goes into meltdown, it obviously makes no difference where the couple met, or made their home. And the way this man (or indeed woman) recklessly dumped the big day bouquet and album by the roadside,

the partnership presumably hit rock bottom at a rapid, and utterly irreconcilable, rate.

Tokyo intimidation?

With the new school year in Japan now well and truly underway, teachers up and down the country will be keeping their eyes peeled for any bullying, especially after the number of cases that needed dealing with doubled in 2007.

However, despite the ongoing issue and the catastrophes it can cause, one or two schools don’t seem to be taking it as seriously as they perhaps should. This Tokyo kindergarten in particular appearing to almost promote,

Aki Hoshino’s fleshy fruit

Promoting oranges is presumably not easy, as, even in the far from exciting world of fruit, the citrusy snack is not exactly special. Still, Sunkist’s plan of producing an Orange Day Princess was novel if nothing else, and Aki Hoshino proudly appeared as the publicity pin-up.

Plus, despite her knockers, the 31-year-old model pulled off a passable job at posing with the product, as well as cleverly quipping, “I’d like to marry by 40, which is the age when I’d look good in a wedding dress. Like oranges, please ‘eat me’ before I go bad.”

The only trouble is, with Hoshino more famous for her melons, the message may well get a bit muddled.
