Japanese recreational wreck

Back in the good (or maybe they were bad) old days, when the disposing of rubbish wasn’t so rigid, a fella after something for free could feasibly almost fill his flat with things thrown out with the garbage — all the way from televisions to tables.

Nowadays though, with a super-strict refuse system, walking away with something worthwhile would require an awful lot of luck to say the least.

But that’s not to say that such freebies are forever a thing of the past, as only last week I randomly ran across a rather large RV.

And while its one not especially careful owner means it requires a reasonable amount of renovation, a nest for nothing is not to be sniffed at.

Noticeable Japanese nipples

Having somewhat self-consciously pondered the appearance of my burgeoning, and presumably beer-induced man-breasts, it seems that rather than being bashful and always boasting baggy tops, I should instead be proud and, more importantly, prominent.

Perhaps.

Japanese penis pandemonium

With their portable shrines and pots of sake, Japanese festivals are generally fairly boisterous affairs, but for Kawasaki’s annual fertility festival (the Kanamara Matsuri) at Hachiman-gu Shrine, bawdy could be deemed a far more accurate description — the marvelling at massive members,

being the main source of amusement.

Also, for people a bit peckish, there’s the usual fare of noodles and nibbles on offer, although for those particularly partial, a pecker or even a pussy may also be purchased.

Japanese hands-free help

For the man in Japan who’s had enough of his own handy work but is unable to palm the job off on to somebody else, there are thankfully a few alternatives.

For starters, there’s the almost infamous robotic reliever, but at 34,500 yen (336 dollars), it doesn’t, so to speak, come cheap.

Thankfully though, for the fella who doesn’t want to give his budget, or indeed his old boy, a severe pounding, help is at hand in the more compact form of Tenga — still a fairly fancy form of relief, but with a far more affordable fee of around 1,000 yen (10 dollars) a pop. Not a bad price considering that technology wise the Tenga is probably more advanced than its more mechanical cousin, and with all the innovations on the inside, it’s simply a case of sitting back and making a simple insertion or two.

Also, like any Japanese products worth their salt, there are cute characters to represent the range, all the way from soft, to hard,

along with a couple of rather comical commercials, that, considering the content, are way too dodgy for the workplace.

There’s this one for the, erm, Deep Throat Cup,

and another that was designed for the debut of the Black and White.

Finally, for the person tempted to invite their mate round for a tipple and the try of a Tenga, there’s always the option of the Double Hole Cup,

which tenders a whole new interpretation to the term ‘two’s-up’.

Mount Fuji and its forest

During the sizzling Japanese summer, Mount Fuji is merely big rather than beautiful, but in spring, with a snow cap still in situ, it’s both sizeable and stunning.

Mount Fuji

Even, as is frustratingly often, it coyly tries to cover itself with cloud.

Mount Fuji

However, only metres away from where these pictures were taken, is Aokigahara (or Sea of Trees as it is sometimes known), a forest that a frighteningly large number of people go for far longer than a brief visit, resolutely resigned to making the foot of Fuji their final resting place.

An area of strange, almost otherworldly qualities, with its volcanic rock and masses of moss, although unfortunately, these fascinating features need somebody far better at photography than me to fully do them justice.

The teams that regularly trek in to recover those left in there on the other hand, may well have other, far less fond feelings about the forest, with photography not exactly first on their list of things to do.
