Japanese johnnies

Japan isn’t always an easy market for foreign firms to force their way into, yet multinational Nestle has never looked back with its Kit Kat biscuit brand. ‘Special edition’ flavours keep the formula fresh, and the snack’s adoption as a good luck charm for students has all but cemented its place in Japanese society.

That said, how happy the company must be about the comedy contraceptives below is debatable to say the least, although they do at least add a spot of semi-saucy suggestion to the now somewhat stale slogan of ‘Have a break, have a Kit Kat’.

The kewpie mayonnaise inspired condoms on the left however, have, at least as far as the condiments creamy contents go, decidedly different connotations altogether.

Rina Akiyama rears up

The Japanese media’s big news story of late has been the baking summer heat and the holiday horrors that have accompanied it, with the temperature in some areas hitting the record figure of 40.9 degrees Celsius. Yet in regards to non-weather-related news, it would appear that actress Rina Akiyama made something of a splash with a Sailor Moon-themed cosplay show. A story that presumably gained more attention than it really deserved to due to Akiyama-san being famed for the delectability of her derriere — the 21-year-old boasting what are believed to be the nicest buttocks in Japanese show business.

In fact, her posterior is said to be so peachy that the youngster has garnered the nickname ‘Oshirina’, a clever combination of her name and the word for one’s nether regions (oshiri). A rare honour it has to be said, with possibly the only other recipient of a body part-related moniker being Eri ‘suikappu’ Furuse, whose massive mammaries are likened to melons.

However moving swiftly back to bottoms, Akiyama is thankfully blessed with several other talents apart from a nice set of buns.

Although when talk inevitably returns to her bum, it admittedly has little trouble beating off the opposition.

So to speak.

Tokyo Times transformation

With Japan’s current heat wave making leaving the happiness of an air-conditioned home seem like an absolutely lousy idea, time has become available to once again alter the template of Tokyo Times — whether it needed it or not.

One or two things will probably need ironing out over the next day or so, but in the meantime, here’s a marvellous picture of one of those maids that are often mentioned; however few of them are as fetching as this young fella lady.

Tainted Tokyo?

Quite possibly the only shops that outnumber dry cleaners in the Japanese capital are convenience stores and hairdressers, making the cleaning of clobber a very competitive business indeed.

With this in mind then, one can only hope that the proprietor of the shop pictured below can produce whites that are whiter than the ‘whiteness’ of his shop.

Tokyo car conundrum

Tokyo, it has to be said, isn’t exactly blessed with an abundance of breathing space, and as far as cars are concerned, parking is at a premium in regards to both payment and position.

Yet whereas costs are difficult to cut, it is possible to cram a load of cars in a relatively confined space — a bit of ingenuity is required that’s all.

And, it goes without saying, a huge amount of patience, particularly for those parked at the top; many of whom probably forego a certain amount of sleep in order to set off on time in the morning.

A contraption that in many ways is not all that dissimilar to the still popular pastime of sliding tile puzzles.

Minus the fun of course
